{"id":441,"date":"2018-07-17T22:57:00","date_gmt":"2018-07-17T22:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tiffanyshae.com\/shinebright\/?p=441"},"modified":"2024-08-21T18:20:50","modified_gmt":"2024-08-21T18:20:50","slug":"freedom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tiffanyshae.com\/shinebright\/uncategorized\/freedom\/","title":{"rendered":"Freedom"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In honor of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationaldaycalendar.com\/national-day\/national-tattoo-day-july-17\">National Tattoo Day<\/a>, I wanted to share the WHY behind my freedom tattoo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two years ago, I traveled to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitmusiccity.com\">Nashville<\/a> to visit a dear friend. We had both been through some serious stuff during that time\u00a0and\u00a0we just\u00a0needed each other. While I was there, we decided to get tattoos \u2013 hers was to cover her wedding band from a past marriage, and mine was something I had been dreaming of since I started an inner healing journey back in 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I love my tattoo so much, the word FREEDOM with eight birds, each symbolizing the bondages of my life that left me broken and hurt, and in turn, sabotaging myself and hurting others for years. The healing journey now leaves the birds uncaged, flying free, the choice to change and walk in love, striving each day to give my all and be the best version of me, knowing I\u2019m not perfect and loving all my imperfections!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FREEDOM to me means:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>trusting\u00a0without limits\u00a0giving\u00a0each person who comes into your life a fair chance to provide you with their love and\u00a0in\u00a0turn, receive yours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>no\u00a0longer need the validation of a boss, friend, husband, or parent to feel like I belong<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>being\u00a0comfortable in my skin regardless of the extra \u201clove\u201d I carry in my handles\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>being\u00a0able to walk away from those who are unwilling to love me and all my imperfections<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>listening\u00a0to criticism and being able to pull out the areas of truth I need to change, but not take offense and harbor resentment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>not\u00a0worrying about whatever everyone else has, wants, or thinks I should do<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>finding\u00a0the best in everyone and every situation &#8211; there is always a silver lining<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>walking\u00a0away from those that continue to hurt me and know that loving them from far away is the only way<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>not\u00a0standing in fear of anyone because I am allowed to walk away<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>listening\u00a0for the cry of another &#8211; someone hurt, abused, broken, sad, depressed, hopeless and touching their lives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>knowing\u00a0I\u2019m not in control of everything and learning to go with the flow\u00a0trusting\u00a0in God to pave the way while I continue to heal every area of my heart<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I wrote this back in 2016 when I posted the photo on Facebook. It\u2019s also printed and hanging in my bedroom, so I will read it and remember how far I\u2019ve come. Never underestimate the power of healing \u2013 find your why, then pursue it. The Lord came to give you abundant life \u2013 so if you aren\u2019t living an abundant life, let\u2019s figure out why.
