This year has been quite the year. I think I’ve started 12 posts and only posted two. But that’s ok. It is better to spend time healing than to get lost in busyness and miss the important things. I won’t MISS this decade, but I am still thankful for all I’ve learned and the people God has placed in my life.
Something has become so apparent as I’ve talked to the Lord for the last 365 days. It has helped me make sense of my entire life, really. If you’re isolated, you are an easy target for the enemy. So, join a church, join a small group, and find people to do life with. It has been a life changer for me, and I will share more of my walk with you in 2020, but for now, I beg you – don’t isolate – even if you start by connecting with me or others on social media.
OH!
And remember, you, WITHOUT A DOUBT, are who you surround yourself with, so if you’re making compromises to be around a particular person or group of people, evaluate what that does for you. ARE YOU WHO GOD WANTS YOU TO BE WHEN YOU’RE WITH THEM?
We moved in 2019, surrounded ourselves with people who understand grace and mercy, pride themselves on speaking truth in love, and KNOW YOU and NO YOU! And most importantly, they are walking the same way we are. We stand together, we battle together, we rejoice together. That is what I was missing. That is what is making me whole again.
I hope 2019 has been a blessing for you, but I know some have suffered loss, pain, and unimaginable betrayal. To those, I am so sorry. I’ve been on both sides of those, the one who suffered and the one who dealt the suffering to others. It’s always challenging, and the internal battles are brutal on either side of the coin. But recovering with like-minded friends who can help your journey is more manageable.
I pray the new year and decade bring you hope for a future, healing, new relationships, and friendships. And if possible, hope for restoration. Hope for a new level of grace and intimacy with our Lord.
